My husband got me a necklace for my birthday from Zales that had a warranty on it. If anything broke I could get it fixed or replaced once free of charge. The chain broke so I had it sent in and fixed so then there was a spot that looked chunky from where it was soldered back together. Very soon after getting it back it broke again (I'm not hard on my jewelry so there's no reason that I should have been breaking as much as it was). I took it back in and had the chain replaced this time with a thicker chain so maybe it wouldn't break as easily. Within two months it broke again and they wouldn't do anything to fix it. I ended up getting a chain from Piercing Pagoda for cheaper and with far better quality as it has now lasted me about 4 years. My wedding and engagement rings were also purchased at this location. Their customer service was great while purchasing the rings, but during any other interaction it's not that great. Their free ring cleaning is only a 30 second (if that) quick brush over and my rings aren't even cleaner after they've been "cleaned" by them. I've had better luck cleaning them myself, though I take them in for a cleaning every time I'm in the area.
Overall, I have been very impressed with Zales stores. However, this is the first one that I did not have a positive experience at. The staff was not welcoming and seemed rude.
Every time we have been in the Gateway mall Zales we have had issues. 6 years ago we purchased our wedding rings. Since then we have purchased a couple of other items. We have alway ls taken everything in in April and September to be inspected. Now we are being told we can no longer do that but have to bring them in in the month they were purchased. Meaning we would have to go in 8 different times a year. Seems to me if you can see they are being inspected by your employees twice a year at the same time what difference does it make when it is. Just another way for them to get out of honoring the warranty. Not to mention the staff at this location is always rude.
I have never felt so pressured to buy something in my life. It was ridiculous to the point to where they started to come off rude when I repeatedly told them I am just looking today and will be back if I made that decision. The staff kept passing me off to others. I think 4 different staff talked to me in my 15 minutes in the store. I will never go back there again. They are worse than used car salesmen.
Scares me.
Similar to others. I've had the ring for 5 years and it has had to go in 3 times for repair. Prongs that come loose. The second time 2 of the three diamonds weren't seated properly and there was an elongated prong that was like a fish hook. Now I waited and waited for a call or email. I just called and was told "Oh, yea, we have it. No one called? Huh.
