I reserved a car through the national call center at 10:15 PM. The location was supposed to be open until 11:30. I arrived at the airport, paid for parking, got inside just to find out the workers were not there. By the comments the few remaining airport employees made, this sounds like a common occurrence. Now I do not have the rental car I needed in order to get my wife to her new job two hours away, our children to school and me to work. The "escalation department" was only able to file a complaint as they do not have contact info for any local staff or even the area manager. So in other words I went out of my way, passed on other solutions and received no goods/services and not even any problem resolution. This is my first time EVER writing an online review - that should show how serious of a company failure this is!
Be VERY careful of renting a car from these people! I told them I didn't want the optional collision insurance. The guy added it anyways and slipped it in the 15-20 initial marks I had to make. When I turned my car in I was stuck with a $200 bill, and there was nothing I could do about it. MAKE SURE TO READ THE AGREEMENT BEFORE YOU SIGN. They will try to scam you!
I can't rate the service correctly because I need to see what they do when my wife brings her rental back. She noticed the scratches the day after she got the vehicle. Now her trip to see my daughter at Concordia Nebraska is ruined because all she can think about is the trouble she might get into when she returns the rental. Why dont the agents check the vehicles BEFORE they give them out? This is my wifes FIRST TIME renting from anyone. I, on the other hand, have rented many times. Alamo seems to NOT check their vehicles before they give them out. I have experienced this as well. One time my vehicle had a flat right in the rental lot.....SMH.
Be VERY careful of reviewing the paperwork before you sign for your rental. I was dupped into signing for the insurance option for my rental, when I explicitly said "NO" to the optional insurance. The agent added it anyways and then gave me 4 pages and 15-20 initials to sign, during which I missed where he added the insurance option. Very deceptive, be careful of this company. It's $200 scam if you fall for it. Next time I will scan each piece of paperwork like a lawyer to be sure I'm not getting played.
