My only major downside is there's not a huge selection for technical hiking or camping gear unfortunately. I wish there was more stuff here for people looking for backpacking/hiking/camping. You get the generic selection of Coleman tents and other gear, but not a lot of any specialty stuff. Otherwise pretty decent selection of everything else.
The staff at this store all lack customer service skills. I would give zero stars but that’s not an option. I exchanged my north face jacket, they gave me store credit for $50 when the over priced jacket costs $160. I ask for my jacket back because that’s ridiculous and they tell me I have to buy it back for the full price. I will reach behind that counter and take my jacket back if it comes down to it. The staff are all young judgemental preppy high school kids and have no common sense. I also was shopping and a staff member greeted the white woman besides me and completely ignored me. Scheels, you need to hire more diverse staff who aren’t intimidated to approach minorities. I won’t be shopping here again
Bought some shoes here last week and had a great experience with the employees here. They were very attentive and were patient helping me try on different styles and sizes until I found what I needed. I've found in other stores, employees will hand you the shoes and walk away, but the young woman who was helping me stayed there and asked about the fit and helped adjust everything. She was really helpful and I'm very happy with my purchase! They are a bit more expensive than other places I've found, but they will price match. It's just a pain to go through the effort of finding flyers and prices of the items you want and such and usually the prices are close.
I normally hate clothes shopping but needed a few things for cold weather so went in with my husband... super helpful staff, and a great selection! Sierra was extremely nice and patient and helped me find all the things I was looking for.
Needed winter attire for outdoor event I was to attend in a couple of hours! Just started my search when I was approached by staff member, Andrea S., who efficiently escorted me thru my shopping experience.. She was friendly & knowledgeable. Satisfied with ALL my purchases.
Katie was very helpful, helping me pick out a winter coat as I have Rhymatoid Arthritis. She showed me several different styles. Helped me pick out warm gloves. Great job Katie!!Thank you
