I say this as one customer service worker to another, I hope you find the change in your heart that brings you success.
If they truly prove to be trying to take advantage of you, then you may kindly inform them that they are not welcome to come to your store. If they actually steal from you, get the police involved, but you must be kind to your customers.
You have no idea what you are losing by treating people with such disrespect. I am not sure what you had to gain from insulting me and then following me into the parking lot to continue your tirade, but as anyone can see from the pattern of experiences in the other reviews that you have no intentions of changing the way you treat your customers.
Either change your behavior, or change your career.
Had a flat repaired here no to long ago. I expected to be greeted by an impudent barbarian based on the reviews I read, but my experience was great! He fixed it quickly for me right there in the shop even though there were other bikes in the shop he had to work on. Prices were fair, and he even gave me some good advice. For people coming here to "browse" there really isn't much of a inventory to browse anyways. I would gladly recommend this place to anyone looking for repairs/replacement bike.
I took my bike in with a broken shift cable last week and he not only repaired it quickly but put a whole new shifter on and did a tune up for a great price. I have bought a few things there in the past like new tube and tires and the price was great as well as the quality. He has always been very nice and helpful to me and when I was there last time I was looking at new bikes thinking I might upgrade in the spring and he showed me several and was very helpful and informative about the ones I am interested in and helpful to find the right one that will fit me the best. I will definitely be going back to repair the other bike that we have at home.
So go ahead and defend yourself now as we all appreciate the irony of how "google reviews are not my metric", yet you reply to every negative review. I am sure you will find a way to blame me for my experience, just as you did for all 38 of the other reviewers that gave you 1 star. For everyone else that is reading this: there is a reason that EVERY other bike shop in town gets a 4-star plus rating and Tyler's shop gets a 2.5.
After shopping around a bunch I bought a bike from recycled cycles last January. I love Marin bikes and they are the only place in the city that carries them as far as I know. I've also had some work done there on other bikes I've had, and a friend of mine built a bike there. The bike that I bought came with a free tuneup within the first year. I had that done, it was done in a timely manne The bike that I bought came with a free tuneup within the first year. I had that done, it was done in a timely manner, and Tyler even upgraded my kickstand to a safer kickstand at no extra cost. All of my experiences at the shop have been good. I don't live in that part of the city, but if I did I'd probably get any work done that I needed done at re-cycled.
I'm sorry sir, but in order to operate a successful business in customer service, you must change your attitude towards customers. ALL of them. Believe they are good people, and strive to be helpful in their lives. They will repay you for it.
I have never been treated with more open contempt. I am sure that Tyler, the long-bearded owner, will reply to this with the same spirit. For the record, Tyler, I was not "loitering" or browsing in a "museum", I would never purchase a bike from Walmart--which is why I was in your shop in the first place-- and I am not currently "trolling" you. I am in fact an educated bike consumer that was looking for something special for my son and for myself.
