Came in on a chilly night and was greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. Hands down, had the best fried chicken in the Midwest. The fried catfish was cooked perfectly and the collards are even cooked right.
For a new place that's still working out the details, this place has some pretty good food. The ribs were a bit on the dry side, but flavor wise, they had a very nice woody smoke to them with a slight sweet coating or maybe baste? The catfish, at first glance, appeared like it was going to be way too over fried, but it fooled me. It was very moist and tender beneath the breaded coating and tasted great! The fried chicken...WOW. I don't even know what else to say about it. We had to wait a while for it to cook, but it's cooked when you order, can't get any fresher than that and well worth the wait. Phone ahead if you're in a hurry. MacNCheese was excellent, baked beans were...baked beans, really the only let down. Fried okra was excellent and seemed to put a smile to the face with each piece. Once they work out the kinks and get things a little more settled, I'd give them 5 stars.
Hands down the absolute best fried chicken anywhere! My mom would’ve loved your cooking. Your strawberry cake alone is worth an hour+ drive for a piece.

The fried chicken has to be some of the best I've had and I grew up in the south! The fried okra was also very good! I didn't love the burger we got but would definitely recommend this place for the good southern food options. The cook who I assume is the owner was delightful as well, she made us feel like we were guests in her home! We will definitely be back.

Granny Weav's is the place to go if you crave southern soul food. The fried chicken is fantastic. And the sides are excellent as well. My personal favorites are the baked beans and fried okra. George is a great guy to converse with too.
