There was no compensation for our visit. No explanation as to why this happened.
**update, the clinic's top management called me back to apologize. He was upset that his staff did not inform him of this issues sooner as it had been about three weeks after our stay when he called. He sincerely apologized for the lack of care, compensated our entire visit, and said he would retrain the staff to watch for these types of situations. He also was upset with his staff for putting our puppy in the regular boarding area. He said that our pup should have been placed on the medical side to have closer supervision. I highly appreciate the top management's sincere apology. I hope that the staff can learn from this and prevent this type of negligence in the future.
Dr. Forney, the other vets and the staff at NAMC are wonderful, obviously very caring and passionate about animals. They communicate expertly with the pet parents and we really appreciate that they are open and available virtually any time we call, whether we have a pet with an urgent issue or we just need to schedule a routine appointment. Thanks for taking such good care of us and our pets!!
not, "We're sorry for the wait, we'll be with you shortly." I waited another 10 minutes and finally decided a half hour was plenty, particularly when I was called and asked to come in early. I left, but stopped at the counter to tell them I was leaving, and that waiting that long with no acknowledgment is ridiculous. I assumed (wrongly) that I would get a phone call shortly thereafter apologizing for the debacle, but never heard from them. That level of customer service is incredibly poor.
I've only used this provider one time, and that initial visit was fine. I recently made a second appointment for regular vaccinations. The appointment was made for 6pm. At around 4:30, someone from the office called and asked if I could come in early, as they made a mistake and the dog would also need an exam prior to her shots. I was irritated, but agreed. I asked how early I should I arrive, and was told to get there as soon as I can. I arrived at about 5 and was placed in an exam room with my pup. After 20 minutes of waiting, I peeked my head out into the hallway in the hopes of being noticed. Two young girls were there and said, "Can I help you?" I replied, "I just wanted to make sure you guys didn't forget I was in here." One of them replied, "We know." That was it --
NAMC is awesome. Professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. I trust them with our precious dog. What else can I say? Isn't that what you look for when you need animal care!
The morning we picked our puppy up, his bandages were soaking wet, yellow, and smelled like pee. Whatever kennel they placed him in, was forcing him to sit in his own pee. I called to talk to the manager about this. He wasn't available, I left my number and didn't get a call back for three days.
He smelled like pee, my dog is white and where he was wet was yellow. Water is not yellow. His bandages were completely soaked and we were forced to wash our dogs fresh surgery site which is highly NOT recommended.
However, it was not water. It was pee. He was freshly groomed the day prior to his surgery since he wouldn't be able to take a bath or get his nails trimmed for at least three weeks.
I asked for him to be boarded in a suite - which wasn't done. I paid additional for "day care" which was one on one play which I instrcuted he could not run or jump due to the recent surgery. It was only so he got some attention. I instructed the office that his bandages must remain clean and dry.
Our puppy was nuetered and had his dew claws (front) removed due to a deformity that would cause an infection if left unchecked. We had the procedure done at our normal vet. We had to leave town for one night. Due to the recent procedure our puppy still had bandages wrapped around his front legs and NAMC was the only place that would board him with surgical sites that were healing.
I called the office again and requested to speak to the manager. I was told he wasn't available and they requested my phone number again. I said I was in a meeting from a specific time and they would need to call after that time. When does the manager call me? Two minutes into my meeting. He left a voice mail that accused my puppy of tipping over his waterbowl and that is why his paws and bandages were wet. He did apologize and said they should have replaced the bandages before sending him home.
I will never return to this center. They have no regard for the safety of their animals. Fortunately, our puppy did not experience any infection from their neglect.
They were very helpful with our new puppy and guided us through everything we needed to know to get started! Everyone was very knowledgeable and understanding of all our questions!!
