Decent gym for the price I pay. I don’t ask for much and they don’t give much. It’s open when I want. They have what I want. The locker room is usually smelly. I’ve asked about it to no avail so whatever there. Staff turns over a lot but I don’t rely on them for anything so whatever there. It would be nice to be a bit more appreciated upon check in and once inside from staff but whatever. The front desk has gotten better with the addition of some new faces. They seem to get it. It is not always the cleanest but I see them trying to take care of that. It’s not a dump but it could be better. Again.. I like it for the price. If I was paying more than I would require more. I do fee the trainers are kind of a cash grab. I see them doing the exact same things for all different types of people. That doesn’t really sell their product when you are on the outside looking in. Looks staged like a wedding DJ playing the same songs regardless of the event style.
Very clean, equipment always works well, or is fixed promptly. Really great locker rooms with private showers; dry sauna is especially clean and relaxing after a workout. Staff at this location are very friendly and happy to help out. As a former retail building, it lacks windows -- I prefer the Pine Lake location for its abundant natural light, but both are good gyms!
Felix was the person that gave us the tour and helped us sign up for our membership. He was very helpful and personable. He really made us feel like we were making the right choice in gyms to help us reach our fitness goals! We have taken a few different classes in the last month and each one has been challenging and fun. The staff is friendly and helpful as well!
The club is on one floor so no steps which I really like for my knees. I wish they had a hot tub so I could give the club a 5 star score. The club is large and I enjoy all the machines they offer to members. The personal trainers Chad and Andre are very good. They do have classes which I hope to attend in 2018 once my knee is healed from surgery.
Genesis Health Clubs is worth the cost of the membership. They start you out with a health assessment where they gather your information then they prepare you with a layout of the muscle groups you should work on/the exercises that will help you reach your goal. You get a couple of free personal training sessions and have the option of purchasing more sessions. I personally have the buddy pass along with my membership and love taking my friends with me. If you ever have any questions or just need help figuring out where to start for the day the staff on O street are super helpful. This location has a tanning bed, saunas, showers and plenty of counterspace with plug ins nearby which makes it easy to clean up and prepare for your day after a workout.
