I was very surprised by the way visitors to a friend's funeral were greeted today at the funeral home. The person who passed was a well known man and very well liked. So, consequently there was a large number of people in attendance of his funeral. The LMFH staff was less than pleased to see the large numbers of people and seemed to be in a bit of a huff, ordering people to step back. "we can't set up more chairs here if you don't step back" "you are going to have to move back" "we could use some help setting up chairs here". They did not have the compassionate and calm reserve that I have been used to seeing and I thought it was rather rude. Several men had already started helping set up more chairs and helping elderly to seats.

A little over a year ago I left a job that I LOVED...all because a company cared more about money and profits than their grieving families that have lost loved ones. This company was bought out by a corporation called SCI...forced us to sell things to families when that's what I wasn't even hired to do. I was hired to make funeral arrangements for families in grief and help them get through this difficult time. So in a one year period, since I have left so have 13 others. Which MEANS this company's morals and ethics went to the crapper instantly. As of a couple days ago Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home fired a funeral director who had been there 30 plus years and near retirement all because he cared more about taking care of his families deceased love ones and not pushing for sales. This disgusts me. So, if you need to make funeral arrangements for a loved one, strongly consider making arrangements elsewhere. Somewhere you feel comfortable laying a loved one to rest because they genuinely care about you and not your money. I miss my work family terribly but KNOW we all made the right decision to leave.

For the past couple of years I too have had issues with service from this company. But yesterday I finally was able to handle my pre-planning arrangements with Katie Herrick who is both efficient and caring. I live in Arizona so had to do the arrangements over the phone and by email. Everything was signed and finalized in under two hours. What a sense of relief that this is completed.

Horrible service, lots of promises, NO follow through. If it weren't for the fact that the rest of my family is buried at Lincoln Memorial, I would NOT be using them.

Certainly not wyuka, thats for sure
