Go here you wont be sorry

Oh, and when I told her it was good that she could work me in before I left (for my family reunion), she asked me AGAIN, "Oh? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Seriously?! Do not go here.

Stephanie: "Uh, so what are you going to INDIANA for?"

I stopped going to her when she highlighted my hair WAY more than I wanted and WAY lighter than I wanted-- for the second time. It is a complete racket, in my opinion. She gives you too much highlighting or whatever it is you are asking for, and then she charges you EXTRA for it. I ended up paying around $100 for the extra highlighting that I had not wanted-- and they refused to give me my money back. They told me they would "fix" it, and they did, but I still paid more than I should have had to and wasted my time driving all the way out to South Pointe, which is 15-20 min away from where I live, for this unprofessional service.

Me: "Uh, yes. I am going to a family reunion."

After being referred by my future sister-in-law, I had my hair trimmed/cut/highlighted/lowlighted at different times by the stylist Stephanie. I think she has a lot of potential, but if you do not have juicy gossip or do not talk about whatever it is she is interested in, then you will not hold her attention. I think that review by "Ann" must have been made by someone who had something juicy for them to talk about (Weight loss, pregnancy, live-in boyfriends seem to be topics they like). Also, the review by "Jen" sounds like it was made by someone who works there or something. Anyway, Stephanie does a good job with the cut on her good days, but you cannot count on it to be good everytime, and she kept screwing up my color.

Cut to the finished product: I am now a dirty BLONDE with a little bit of brown-- rather than a brunette with a slight sun-kissed look.

She was easily distracted and kept gossiping with the other stylists. This is a conversation we had, or as close as I can remember it. I actually began COUNTING how many times she asked me the same questions because she was not listening to me at all. Not a good trait in a hair stylist.

I have been to many different hair salons around Lincoln, I never went back to one more than twice till I went to Beauty First at South Point. I have a lot of curly course hair and finally found someone who could color it and make it look amazing she was also able to get it as straight as a board and it looked and felt smooth. I have had all three girls who work there do my hair at one point or another. I would highly recommend this salon!! Especially if you have very think freeze curly hair.

Me: "ILLINOIS." I tell her again that I want to remain a brunette.

Anyway, I felt really upset, especially since I wanted my hair to look good for the family pictures at my upcoming reunion. Plus, as I said before, my bill was HUGE. They bill you by the amount of highlighting! When I rescheduled, I asked whether I could get a time less close to lunch, as I wondered if this was too distracting for Stephanie. (It is like dealing with a preschooler.)

Stephanie: "Oh, okay..." She turns and talks to another stylist about what she wants for lunch. Then she turns back. "So are you getting your hair done for anything special?"

This Beauty First is a very unprofessional salon and the females that work here have not a clue what they are doing as a stylist. Their customer service is very shameful. I say this because I paid for a hundred dollar perm and the perm didn't take to my hair. Two days later my hair was the same way my hair was before I got the perm. I called to see if a stylist could do anything about it. My usual stylist was gone that did the perm so I went to a different stylist that was there, the stylist that I went to then blamed the perm not taking to my hair on the box coloring that I did six months ago or later. The stylist then told me that I should have signed a waiver for having box coloring on my hair that they can't gaurantee the perm. My stylist that I went to knew that I had put a box coloring on my hair six months ago and didn't ask me to sign anything. But everyone knows a box coloring goes out of your hair after 28 shampoos. The other stylist tried to fix my hair by using a whole bunch of curling shampoo, conditoner, and curling product. If I wanted to curl my hair I would have just bought those products in the first place instead of paying one hundred dollars for a perm that I didn't get. I wanted the perm so that I could just get up and go without having to spend an hour or more on making my hair curly. All I wanted was a perm that would last awhile like the other perms I had in the past which I didn't get here. I didnt even bother with getting a refund because I had to wait for the manager to come in to ask her instead of the next day when I went back in for them to give me a refund which is shameful customer service. I was a good customer here but not after this, in the first place I would have never signed a waiver if I knew the perm wasn't going to be gauranteed. I would have walked out got my perm done a different salon. My advice to future customers is DO NOT GET A PERM HERE!!!!! I have been a customer for a long time here but me and my sibling won't be coming back here especially a service like this with bad business tactics. THEIR LOSS!!!!!!

Me: "I am glad you were free today. I want to get my hair trimmed and highlighted because I am going to a family reunion in ILLINOIS this weekend! But I only want a LITTLE BIT of highlighting... I still want my hair to be brown, just..."

Stephanie: "Oh, yeah? Where is it?"

When I came back, she acted a little irritated at having to come in earlier than she had planned. (This was the only way I could get in again before leaving for Illinois.) Then she blamed the error on me, saying that I had pointed out too light of a shade of blonde. The thing is, she never asked me to point out a shade. I figured she had something on file or that there was something generic for a TINY amount of sun-kissed highlighting or something. I just kind of smiled and nodded because I did not want her to take out her irritation on my hair.

Later on, after I had been ignored for the majority of time, while Stephanie and the other stylists gossipped, talked about lunch, and discussed weight loss pills. No attempt has been made to include me in the conversation...

I just happened to stop in here one day to get a quick manicure. I liked my manicurist so much that I have continued to go back every two weeks. I even had her do my hair, a dye and haircut. I have never had a problem with the girls being rude to me, even before I was known as a regular.
